Life Dreams: A Language Learner’s Story
Last year, I made the change that I always wanted to make to my life. Studying French in France had always been a dream of mine, but after my high school classes, my lesson efforts somewhat stagnated. Getting wrapped up in day-to-day life and career made France seem unreachable, as if it were located on the moon, rather than just a plane ticket away.
Yet it reached the point in my life where the allure of studying French Paris eclipsed all my other options. I got online, enrolled in a course and booked my transport and accommodation, and voila! I found myself in Paris learning at French courses France in no time.
For me, this was more significant than just a trip overseas. It was about fulfilling my life dreams and what I saw as my potential. I believed that I could make all the difference to my prospects and outlook with this trip, and so far, it’s all been proved to be true!
It’s not my first trip overseas either – not by any means! I had already studied at Spanish courses Spain and even taught English courses Malta, but both of those date back many moons ago now! I don’t know why France has always appealed to me, but that’s just the way it worked out. Perhaps it’s something to do with the belle epoch glamour of Paris, the art nouveau vestiges that remain decoratively and historically dotted around the city. More than likely, it’s the food – as the commitment to French regional specialities remains strong, and it’s as simple to have a gastronomic tour around the capital as it is to jump on a TGV fast train and explore all that France has to offer at various locations.
There are certain things that I miss about my life back home, but it’s not enough to hold me back! I think I might take Italian courses Italy next, and then return back to the “real world” – enriched, enlightened and enthusiastic!
